＜要旨＞
イノベーション活動では，一人ひとりが創造性を発揮することが求められる．そして，個人の創造的パフォーマンスに影響を与える要因の一つに，制約がある．本稿では，製品デザインの創作過程に参与することで，あえて制約から逸脱するような思考過程を設けることが，どのように創造的パフォーマンスに影響を与えるかを検討した．その結果，最初から少数の，制約を満たしたアイデア創出を狙うのではなく，制約を満たさないアイデアも含めた多様なアイデアを出し合い，それらを組み合わせて完成度の向上を図るも，それを破壊し再びアイデアを出し合う，といったように，遠回りな方法で試作品の完成度の向上を目指していたことがわかった．その理由として，制約を満たさないアイデアを生み出し，活用することで，最終的に高い創造的パフォーマンスが発揮される可能性が示唆された．
＜Abstract＞
Innovation activities require creativity.　One of the factors influencing individual creative performance is constraints.　This study examines how intentionally incorporating thought processes that deviate from constraints during the product design process affects creative performance.　The findings reveal that rather than aiming to generate a small number of constraint-satisfying ideas from the outset, participants sought to improve the quality of prototypes through a more circuitous approach̶by generating a wide variety of ideas, including those that did not meet the constraints, combining them, and then discarding the combined ideas and starting over to generate new ones.　This suggests that the generation and use of ideas that do not satisfy constraints can ultimately lead to higher creative performance.
